Srila Bhakti Kusum Ashram Maharaj, appeared on the 8th of March 1951, in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León, in a pious family migrated from Spain. In the process of his spiritual quest Maharaj was attracted by the sacred teachings of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupada and took shelter in his holy lotus feet and his glorious mission in January of 1974, when he was 23 years old.
Since then Srila Ashram Maharaj was a sublime servant in the sacred mission of his spiritual master, and a natural leader beloved by the community of devotees. After the disappearance of Srila Prabhupada in 1977, Srila Ashram Maharaj for the first time traveled to India in 1978, to participate in the annual celebration of Gaura Purnima, and later he visited India in 1982. At that time, Srila Maharaj Ashram got the sacred darshan of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj and he was attracted by the divine personality of Srila Sridhar Maharaj and the nectar of his teachings, Srila Ashram Maharaj took shelter at his lotus feet and accepted Srila Sridhar Maharaj as his sannyasa guru. He was given the name – Bhakti Kusum Ashram. Srila Ashram Maharaj began to serve the sacred mission of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math and preach enthusiastically the glories of this Math, in Mexico and other countries. He established the first center of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Mexico. In 1988 Srila Ashram Maharaj Ashram for the first time in the history published "The Bhagavata", by Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, in Spanish. “The Guardian of Devotion" was published in 1994. Many other publications in Spanish followed it. Shripad Ashram Maharaj currently heads the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat math centers in Mexico and Latin America. He leads eleven ashrams in Mexico and hundreds of followers in Latin America. He is an example of self — sacrifice, unceasing service in all circumstances, and a deep loving heart-a source of inspiration to countless souls around the world.
