madhura-rasa lit. ‘sweet taste’; a relationship of conjugal love with the Lord, which is the most exalted of all relationships with the Lord and contains within it the qualities of all the other relationships. There are two forms of madhura-rasa: (1) svakiya: serving the Lord as one’s husband, and (2) parakiya: serving the Lord as one’s paramour.
