Today, under the guidance of Sripad Bhakti Achintya Madhav
Maharaj, Moscow devotees celebrate the holy advent day of Lord Sri Krishna.
As Aruna Krishna Prabhu reports from the Moscow temple, the festive programme
is attended by exceptionally large crowd of new people. A few weeks prior to
that, a whole squad of devotees was intensely engaged in the distribution of
invitations and flyers at the public programmes organised on the occasion of
the India Independence Day.
The devotees try to accommodate every guest and spend some
time explaining the meaning of the holiday and giving the background of the
temple itself.
The celebration begins early in the morning and continues
throughout the whole day: devotees arrange continuous reading of the tenth
canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam and show a part of the
Mahabharata serial film that is devoted to the advent and the
pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna.
Later on, Sripad Madhav Maharaj gives a lecture majorly
explaining the meaning of the holiday to the gathered guests and devotees.
The lecture is crowned with an astonishing surprise — the guests
receive a unique opportunity to listen to and watch the live broadcast of
the lecture of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj that is being given at the grand Vaishnava festival, at the Saint
Petersburg seva-ashram.
However, this is also not all — the programmes continues
with a lively kirtan and finishes with a splendid ekadashi
prasadam feast.
Devotees pray that Srila Gurudeva accepts their attempts
to serve Lord on this auspicious day and that the many guests who had fortune
to attend the celebration come to the programmes again.
